Shri Satyendar Jain dedicates various power transmission projects to the citizens of Delhi.

Ø  Hon’ble Minister of Power dedicates transmission projects worth Rs. 136 crore to the public.

Ø  Projects spread over six Assembly Constituencies of Delhi and will benefit a large part of Delhi.

Ø  A major step in strengthening power system of Delhi.

Ø  Shall result in reliable, quality and uninterrupted power supply.

Ø  “Power theft cases against consumers can only be filed if found guilty by Public Grievance Cell” Hon’ble Minister said.

 

 

Shri Satyendar Jain, Hon’ble Minister of Power, Govt. of NCT of Delhi dedicated various power transmission projects to the citizens of Delhi in the august presence of following dignitaries:

 The event was organised at 220KV Substation of Delhi Transco Limited, Sector -2 Dwarka Phase-I, Delhi – 110 045.

While dedicating the projects to the public Sh.Satendar Jain, Hon’ble Minister of Power, Govt of National Territory of Delhi told that Delhi government was committed to proved uninterrupted power supply at a reasonable price to the public and has taken various  initiatives to strengthen the transmission and distribution network. These projects are scattered across six Assembly Constituencies of Delhi and will cater to the needs of large part of the national capital. These projects are very crucial in terms of strengthening the power transmission system and will help the distribution companies draw sufficient and reliable power from the state grid. It will help in making Delhi a power cut free area.

He further told that 34 lakh electricity consumers out of the total 42 lakh consumers using upto 400 units per month have been benefited by the subsidy. Their electricity bills have been halved.  He assured that the power tariff may further come down if Union Government withdraw the costly power allocated to Delhi. 

Speaking on the issue of redressal of false power theft cases he told that DERC has been asked to frame policy that DISCOMS would only be able to file case against consumer if he has been found guilty by Public Grievances Cell.

 The demand of power in Delhi is increasing every year.  It is very challenging to keep pace with the increasing demand.  Since its inception Delhi Transco Limited has been endeavouring to create a reliable and efficient transmission network. The maximum demand during the last summers was 5846MW on 19th June, 2015.  Keeping in view the increasing demand, Delhi Transco has taken up a number of projects in various parts of Delhi.

“Delhi Transco Limited has recently completed various power transmission projects worth around 136 crore. With the completion of these projects 740 MVA has been added in the transmission capacity. The total transmission capacity at 220KV level has become 11420 MVA while at 400KV level it is 5410 MVA. Besides this, 16.6 circuit kilometre of underground transmission line has been added. The total length of transmission line at 400KV level is around 249.19 circuit kilometre. At the level of 220KV the length of overhead transmission lines is 603.493 circuit kilometre while the length of underground cable has become 162.625 circuit kilometre” told Sh. Sukesh Jain, Chairman, Delhi Transco Ltd.
